how do hybrid cars work?
im writing a paper and i need info on how hybrid cars work. does anyone know how they work? or do you know a website that would help?
A hybrid car is propelled by one or more electric motors which receive the electricity from batteries. The batteries are charged by either a gas or diesel engine. In a hybrid car the engine runs at a constant speed unlike a conventional auto which the rpm in continually varying. The way you mostly save energy is in the constant speed. That is also why different people get different mileages out of conventional cars.

Yes. Adding another power source to an engine certainly helps vehicles gain more power. For a good example, take a look at the Honda Accord Hybrid. It was built for performance, so the 3 litre, V-6 engine gets 253 hp and 232-foot pounds of torque.
